Masters Exchange

The Masters Exchange brings distinguished professional choreographers and performance artists to the studio, to work with SHMD choreographers-in-residence and studio alumni.  In these daylong sessions, residents and alumni present works in progress for feedback and receive mentoring from the master teachers. 

Since the sessions began in 2000, SHMD has welcomed to the studio many renowned pedagogues in dance and the multidisciplinary movement arts, including Kyle DeCamp, Carmen de Lavallade, Sean Feldman, Simone Forti, Kaoru Ishii, Elizabeth Keen, Phyllis Lamhut, Diane Madden, Susan Marshall, Sarah Stackhouse, and Gus Solomons Jr.

Masters Exchange workshops are free to the public for observation.  Space must be reserved by contacting us at hessdance@aol.com.
